Hendrik Berghaeuser

Hendrik’s research focuses particularly on institutional change within research organisation with regard to mission oriented innovation policy or further societal expectations and needs. In his PhD for example he analysed the role of the third mission within higher education governance in Germany. Besides he has been involved in several projects related to this research field, like SUPER_MoRRI, MoRRI, JERRI or the Evaluation of the Austrian development and funding organisations Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH (AWS) and Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH (FFG).

Additional research interests include the evaluation and impact assessment of national, regional or EU-wide funding programmes in the field of STI policy like the Evaluation of the three pilot innovation competitions launched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Scientific Monitoring and evaluation of the Programme EXIST – University-Based Business Start-Ups, or the Science and Innovation Policy Evaluation Repository (SIPER).

Hendrik holds a PhD in Political Science and Economics (2019) from the German University for Administrative Science Speyer, a diploma for political science (2012) from the Free University of Berlin and in addition a Bachelor of Science in economics (2012) from Humboldt University in Berlin. He completed study and research visits at the University of California in San Diego (USA) and the University of Oslo (Norway).
